To make your home stand out from the rest, consider making the most of your fences. Fencing frames the best features of your property and gives a beautiful view to your outdoors. It also hides unflattering elements of your property. But, there are a lot of fencing options to consider before getting the right fence installed.

Consider these factors before you call a fencing professional in Mission Viejo:

Fencing for Privacy

The most common factor for installing a fence is to provide ample sense of privacy to the renters. Check the local guidelines about fencing heights before installing a tall fence.

  • Stone or Brick Fencing

Stone or brick fencing is a durable fencing option that adds privacy with an aesthetic sense. This type of fencing blends well with a traditional architecture. This can help homeowners get a higher rental value and renters an ideal escape.

  • Wood Fencing

If you want to secure the privacy of your property at a cheaper price but higher value, go for wood fences. The traditional wood fencing is not only economical but increases the rental value too.

  • Vinyl Fencing

Vinyl fences are another great fencing option you have for blocking the view for the renters. These are more durable than the wood fences and can be the best option for vacation rentals.

Fencing for Security

If your neighborhood is prone to security breaches and intrusions, consider securing your property with fences that are stronger and more durable.

  • Metal Fencing
Metal fences heighten the sense of security. You can get metal fences made up of steel and aluminum in various artistic designs.
  • Chain link Fencing

Chain link fences and barbed wire fences are the best deterrents to evade intruders from your property and resolve your renters’ security concerns.

If you are having trouble picking the right fence for renting out your home, call a fencing service provider to help you choose the right material and install it too.

  1. Would a tall vinyl fence be good for security? I understand that chain link might be appealing since it’s so easy to make a lot of noise if you’re climbing over it. But, it also is the easiest to climb with abundant places for footing. I think I would have a harder time climbing a 6 or 7 foot tall vinyl fence than a chain link one!

  2. I have been renting for some time and I can attest that having privacy and security are super important. I like that there are so many options for fencing to help renters feel more comfortable. I would love to own rental property one and I will keep these ideas in mind. Thanks for the info!

  3. I like what this article mentions about fencing being a good security measure. I think this would be one of the biggest factors when choosing whether or not to install one. I think that chain link could be the best option for my specific property, as we don’t need the cosmetic value of something like an iron fence.

  4. I have a few properties that I own right now. I’ve been considering putting in some fences around my properties, but I’m just not sure if they even need it. I really liked this post though, and it makes a lot of sense that fencing can provide greater privacy and security. This does seem like a good investment so thanks for sharing this.

  5. Hi Elizabeth, it is not just about increasing home value. It is also about getting your home or property rented as well. If you are having a hard time getting your home rented and you don’t have a fence. It is time to get one installed.

  6. Installing a new fence seems like an interesting way to boost the value of rental properties. Installing one to improve privacy seems like a great reason for building a fence around a property. It’s good to know that materials like vinyl, wood, stone, and brick fencing can help to add privacy to a property. This list of different types of privacy fencing seems important for landlords to look over and consider adding to their rentals.

  7. A lot of people don’t do stone or brick fencing like they used to. I think it would add a little bit of curb value to the home if you put a brick fence around your home. Like you said, you get a higher rental value and I would even venture out to say it could boost the sale.

  8. Elizabeth, thanks for explaining how a fence can boost the value of your property. It makes sense that a nice-looking fence can increase the curb appeal and the value of a home. I like the idea of getting a wood or vinyl fence to add a little privacy to our home and set a boundary for when our kids are playing outside. Hopefully, I can find a reputable fencing contractor to help come up with the best design.
